Service Officer and Veterans Affairs
The Legion Branch Service Officer is available to assist veterans in their dealings with Veterans Affairs Canada. This is done mostly by acting as a referral agent, referring the veteran to the BC/Yukon Command professional Service Officers. The Branch Service Officer can also assist veterans with filling in and filing of application forms but the new accountability and security requirements in protecting sensitive personal information means that the Branch Service Officer can no longer contribute to the actual processing of claims and appeals. If you are in need of assistance please call the Branch at 604-826-2331. Veterans Affairs Canada telephone numbers are: 1-866-522-2122 (English) 1-866-522-2022 (French) 1-800-268-7708 Crisis Line (24 hour) The Bureau of Pension Advocates will assist you if you are not satisfied with a disability decision made by Veterans Affairs. Their telephone number is: 1-877-228-2250
